Your prenatal care typically begins between 10-16 weeks gestation. I do occasionally offer late to care transfers if I have space available. Prenatal visits are every 4 weeks up until 28 weeks and then we switch to every 2 weeks until 36 weeks. After that visits are every week up until the baby comes. Your prenatal care also includes routine lab work. At each visit I will spend 45 minutes to an hour and a half discussing your health on a holistic level. Visits will be held at the Bearthwise midwifery office with the exception of one home visit between 34 and 38 weeks.

Your investment includes delivery with two midwives present at birth. It also includes any needed medications for you or your baby in the first 4 hours postpartum. It includes all necessary medical supplies for the birth and newborn exam as well as sutures if needed. It also includes a disposable birth tub and associaed supplies should you not want to use your own tub.

Your postpartum care includes 3-4 visits for both you and your baby. These are typically offered at 1-2 days after birth, 1 week after birth, 3 weeks after birth, and 6 weeks after birth. The first two visits will be done from the comfort of your home.

Routine ultrasounds are not included in the cost of care but Bearthwise Midwifery works with several local ultrasound providers who are in network with most major insurances or offer great cash pay rates. Non routine labs are available at a cash pay rate for clients. If you are expecting twins or have a baby with a breech presentation at birth, an experienced practitioner will be called to assist at the birth for an additional fee.
